Matchrox helps hybrid athletes find a doubles partner whose strengths complement theirs, then carries the partnership from invitation to post-race review. Native iOS app in TestFlight beta, built with SwiftUI and Supabase.
How might we help hybrid athletes find a doubles partner whose strengths complement theirs, then get both of them race-ready?
Matchrox pairs HYROX doubles racers by run pace, station strengths, proximity, and race goals. It then supports the partnership through training, race week, and the post-race review.
Finding a doubles partner usually means scrolling social posts and group chats. Pace, station strengths, and race goals rarely appear in one place, and planning afterward is spread across notes and messages.
A feed surfaces run pace, complementary station strengths, proximity, and athletes who hold a ticket but have no partner. A nearby map shows who is close enough to train with each week, and an intro video of up to 30 seconds shows training and teaming style.
Before sending an invitation, athletes set a race goal and running style and preview a projected combined finish with each partner's pace. Recipients accept or decline from a Home Screen widget or the Dynamic Island.
Assign who starts and finishes each of the eight runs and eight stations.
Adjust workload splits in 5% steps and add notes.
See which stations and target paces a partner changed since the last visit.
Coordinate in a team thread that keeps HYROX terminology intact during on-device translation.
Partners share a packing list with 34 pre-filled items plus recovery items, and can set optional race-morning alarms. After the race, they compare results with the projection and review laps, stations, and the Roxzone.
Accounts are 18 or older. Profile photos and videos are screened before others see them, and athletes can block users and report them confidentially.
Native iOS app in SwiftUI with Swift 6 strict concurrency. The backend runs on Supabase: Postgres with row-level security and Edge Functions for push notifications, venue weather, race ingestion, and video moderation. A semantic token system and recurring accessibility and copy audits keep the interface consistent.
In TestFlight beta. The app is still in development.
